I like this version a little better, a little slower, and more emotive.

When you redo a song from someone like michael jackson, johnny cash, or any of the other icons of rock you either have to sing it like them but better, or change it to make it your own.

The original version is so poppy that the power of the lyrics is lost in the beat.
