begging for 4 turrets

Post by Phil_S »

I just received my order from AES with parts for the 5B6 I've got in my head. I ordered a stock board http://www.tubesandmore.com/products/P-HTUR-60 figuring I could work with it and just add the few mid-board turrets I'll need. Unfortunately, though it was on my list, I must have failed to add the loose turrets to my order. (Yeah, I'm sure I'm the one who made the error.) Now, I'm reduced to begging or paying $1.50 + $10 postage for 10 turrets. I thought I'd try begging. Actually, I need 3, but one extra seems like a better idea.

Is there anyone out there who can help me out? I don't need that exact turret -- forked, whatever, is going to be fine. Naturally, I'm happy to pay a fair price plus 1st class USPS envelope. Please PM.

If not, what can I fashion on my own that will work, some sort of eyelet?

Thanks.

Phil

What is the board thickness? I am blank on 3mm but I am pretty sure 2mm's are breeding in a closet somewhere. I think they are 2mm because they don't work with the 3mm material.

Ahh 2mm. Let me look... think I have ya covered. PM me your addy and I will drop ya a couple packs if you haven't used 8p nails by tomorrow. :)

I'll be in MD on Tuesday night into Wednesday. If you want to meet up for a beer at a local Applebees or something I will bring a bunch with me.

I am traveling from Jersey to Frederick and we could meet in Baltimore. I'll need to see what I have but I am sure i have something that would work for you. Do you have a preference? 2 tier? 3 tier?

nevermind about the 2 tier or 3 tier. Here is a pic of what I have. Single tier or eyelet. Let me know.

I'm grateful for the generous offers.

I managed to PM Miles before I saw HeeBGB's post.

HeeBGB, Tuesday doesn't work so well for me this week. Though I haven't heard back yet, it looks like Miles has me covered. It would be great to meet and greet. Maybe another time?

Actually, we have a great brew pub downtown, The Brewer's Art http://www.thebrewersart.com/housebeer.html These guys don't fool around. The beer is hand crafted and has a high alcohol content. It is best not to drive after you've been there, or drink then eat (stop drinking) if you intend to drive.

Best,
Phil

You're workin' too hard at this, Miles! Trip to the PO? I do it on line whenever I can. I highly recommend buying a scale. They are sold on eBait for dirt cheap. I'd but a ceiling of $10-15 on it, including shipping. Unless you are shipping heavy stuff, get the 35lb model, as it is considerably smaller. Mine works great.

I had to go to the doctor anyhows! As it ends up I had to pass it off on my friend here who is underworked and full of shit.

Good news is that I have vertigo and I am not falling from blinding heights for real, bad news is I think it will be Thursday before you can commence to turreting.

Also, don't return anything to whatever the return addy is on the envelope. He forgot my address and used half my old one or some such. lmao

That's quite a story! Sorry for the vertigo. I believe it should pass when your inner ear gets itself together. Thursday sounds great to me!

Everything I do is a production with a story and sometimes a rock star or a dead hooker. You just never know.. until the phone rings and we are trying to find an unregistered shovel at 4:18am.
