EL84's going bad?? in a rocket?

Post by redshark »

Just curious..what would be the first signs of el84's runned in cathode bias on a stock rocket going bad? I'm running it hot with stock value cathode resistor of 50ohms.

Thanks for the answers, pls school me on this.....

Could EL84's be microphonic? I have a little rattle when I play a low E note (6th string) and on the sustained note I get a little noise. I know my preamp tubes aren't microphonic cause I changed both and it didn't go away.
