Hi
Just got started on electrics after putting a K+K PWM in my Acoustic Guitar and plugging it into AUX2 on my home surround system - it works but I probably need a preamp as volume needs to be 40+ / 50.
Then on to a Larrivee RS-4 electric and an ebay 5/17 watt used tube Amp, nice but pretty loud even at the 5w setting so started searching for a simple small solution and found this site via "the Gear Page" thinking an RJ basic might be interesting.
Actually built a tube amp a long time ago - Fischer stereo back in the late 60's - wish I still had it.
Regards Wayne

Thanks guys - I've sent a PM to RJ to see what kits are available - read the threads on the eagle and supre - sounds like a good starting point.

Welcome,

Which amp depends on what you want to do built an easy for experience or build a particular flavor amp for jamming or practice.

I built rj's Eagle combo for my grandson and it is a great sounding amp running mojotone 8 inch speaker. But might not be what you want, it's a Fender Champ.

Rj's Roadster (trainwreck rocket) would be a great kit to start with and can be used for anything.

Looking for a 2-5 w practice head since I have a couple old Superscope stereo speakers in nice cabinets that I could turn into combo's that now have 10" woofer, 4" mid and tw - if amp works then I'd think about a new 10" guitar specific speaker.
Goodsell has power to spare for home use.
Eagle Supre sounds about what I was thinking of or the E-100 depending on kits he has in stock - reading Hunter's AMP book that I got from the lib and I can understand the potential for tweaks better now.
This could help pass the Minn winter for sure.
