If you can work your way up a steep but brief learning curve on a CAD program, a laser or water jet fabrication company can knock one out for you pretty quickly. Here is a thread I started a year ago about my experience:

https://tubeamparchive.com/viewtopic.ph ... ht=chassis

The last chassis cost me $130 so they must have had a learning curve too ;-)

What I appreciate the most is safety. Punching 1" holes in 1/8" plate by hand is asking for blood. And accuracy. I use 4 captive nuts (McMaster #94648A350) to secure the chassis to the cab. You take their exact hole spec, type it in the CAD program and it is on to something like a 100th of an inch.

If you decide to go the EMachine route and want some templates, I have a few now. Email me for those at hjhelms#%&^charter.net because I can't attach files on the TAG PM system.

Good luck, sh

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I know watts tube audio requires a 10 piece minimum for custom chassis. I may just look into messing around with that CAD software, is there a certain one i should look into or do i have much a choice to begin with?

I used this one:

http://www.emachineshop.com/

They have a proprietary file designation so once you are done, you have to export it as a DXF file for the machine shop. This company also does machining but it is priced very dearly.

Making the box is the hard part because you need to allow for deflection at the bends. After that, the holes are easy. If you decide to go that route, email me at hjhelms$!^&charter.net and I can send you some of the chassis I've done. They aren't the exact dimensions of the off-the-rack "D" chassis' but if you can't use them, you can at least see how the bends, offsets and relief holes are designed. sh
