100w EL34 HRM Vid

Post by boldaslove6789 »

The last clip I posted was an amp I did a bunch of mods too. I posted a clip of the amp in NON-HRM mode, this clip is the same amp in HRM mode:

I'm playing a custom alder body strat w/ a Birdseye neck, and Burstbuckers.

100w high plate EL34 Skyliner stack HRM (with some BM values for the OD tonestack). The cab is a D-style 2x12 with a Celestion G1265 and an Eminence Texas heat:

Sounding very nice. Do you favor one setup over another?

I have to say hearing this clip makes me feel pretty good about my HRM. I'm able to get into similar territory, sound wise.

BTW, you're playing is outstanding as always.

I like this particular amp in HRM mode, although I prefer NON-HRM amps

Nice tone and playing! Just curious, since I know you experiment a lot with your D-amps, how do you like the EL34s compared to 6L6? I'll eventually get around to a 183 style EL34 build but will probably experiment with both in it.

Sounds nice Greg! :D

Lots of bottom in that amp!

What was the strat you are playing there?

Dual humbuckers?

Tom,

It was an American alder body standard with a Blueish/purple color they only made for 1 year in 96'. I played the guitar so much the frets were so bad I just replaced the neck instead of getting a fret job done. The neck is Birdseye maple with an Ebony board, Jumbo 6105 frets and mother of pearl fretmarkers. There is 2 Gibson Burstbuckers, #1 in the neck, #2 in the bridge w/ push/pull pot coil tapping on each pickup. AWilkinson "vintage 59" trem and Fender/Shaller Locking Tuners .
