Re: express
I can't answer your question, as I have never done what you ask. But I do wonder WHY you ask? If it is because you have the trannies laying around, I understand your reasoning. But, on the other hand, if you are asking because you thought you might want more power than 36 watts, FORGET IT. This amp is so friggin' loud, you won't feel the need for more.
Best of luck with your build.

Re: express
hello there, you can certainly build those preamps and use those trannies for the output section, but it won't sound the same. the express uses a smaller stack (1 1/4") and a 6.6k pri; the komet uses a slightly larger stack (1 5/8") and a 5.8k pri. the laminations are stacked differently (ie--buttstacked) and also they are a different type steel than a plexi and have a different winding pattern. your power trannie would probably suffice depending on which amp/what plate voltage yours works for (express---around 400v on the plates, komet---around 465v on the plates). rh
Re: express
what is the difference tone wise between 5200 and 6600 ohms as far as wiring the tranny
Re: express
well if you're talking about the express outputs you can get from moose, these are just 2 known impedences that ken used in the express----moose simply had heyboer wind the trannie with both so you could try both and see which tone you liked best--also the 5200 will sound better with the liverpool or rocket. the differences would be fairly subtle. your marshall 50w output has a 3.4k pri. and 4/8/16 sec.----this is the same as 6.8k pri. and 8/16/32 sec. so if have a 16 ohm cab, turn your amp's selector to 8ohms (or 8 ohm cab into 4 ohms) and get a feel for the 6.6k pri. of the express. rh
