Sorry, this is going to be a bit long winded (I'm good with a Soldering Iron, fine following a clear, unambiguous Schematic), but I'm no electronics whiz!
I have assembled my DIY Airbrake using all the Mouser supplied parts and I am about to wire it all together.
However, before I do that I need to know if there is anyone out there who can confirm the correct wiring of the 6 Way switch.
I have a very clear schematic but there is a bit of an anomaly regarding the numbering on the terminal side of the switch.
On the schematic I have (and on other schematics I have also seen), the switch terminals are shown (looking from the terminal side) as being numbered from 1 to 12 in a clockwise direction, where as the actual switch (as viewed from the terminal side), is numbered from 1 to 12 in an anti-clockwise direction!
Also, there are 2 terminals near the center of the switch marked A and C.
According to the schematic, one of these terminals is connected directly to the tip (+) of the speaker output jack, and the other is connected to terminal No's 11 & 12 on the switch, the end terminal of the adjustable resistor and the tip (+) of the amp input jack. Unfortunately the schematic does not show which terminal is A and which terminal is C!
Phew!! Hope your still with me!!
So, what I need to know is:
1. Do I ignore the Clockwise/Anti-Clockwise thing and just wire everything up to the numbered terminals as shown on the schematic anyway?
2. Which of the 2 center terminals goes directly to the tip (+) of the speaker output jack, A or C?
I have uploaded the schematic I have, which is brilliantly clear (not withstanding the missing center terminal lettering!) so that you guys can:(A) Confirm that the wiring info is correct
(B) Save a copy of the diagram for yourselves, if you don't already have it!
Many thanks guys (in anticipation!)
