Cool Mod for Fender?

Post by RockinLocken »

Gettin ready to go through the old Bandmaster Reverb and thought about the Cool Mod for Fender Twin schem. Looks like The Twin & Bandmaster are very close in the preamp stages as far as I can see. Anyone try these? Got clips & picts? Thanks guys.

Is it a Blackface? Mabye you could sell it and have enough to build a Hybrid A or a clone of the amp Gil uploaded.

I have toyed with the idea of doing the Cool Mods to my SF bassman, It was already Marshalized by Jeff Bober before I realized how easy it was to do by yourself. All he did to mine was change the mid and bass caps to .022uf and change the slope resistor to 56K.

I know this isn't what you want to hear but you got a classic amp. It is easy to build one from scratch. There is a ton of help here as well. Just do it.

Those old fenders make a great starting point to build a clone of alot of other amps.... i don't care if its a blackface silverface or a old tweed... if it sounds like crap (fenderish) gut it and make it sound great:)

Dumb Mod

Post by RockinLocken »

It's an old SF 69. I need to recap the thing anyways. I'll try the Marshallized on the clean chan and the dumbl on the vibrato side. Like ya'll basically said "go for it" it will be good practice for future stuff like a Hybrid. Thanks guy's.
