Schumacher 125A9A OT in 70's era build

Post by mikefree »

Hi everyone,
I'm a first time poster with a question.
I have an original Schumacher 125A9A (50 watt) output transformer out of a 1965 Blackface Super Reverb. Is there any reason I could not use this in a 50W 70's era build. Unfortunately, it only has a single 2 ohm tap. I know many of the 100W builds have used Twin Reverb OT's with great success.
I would appreciate any advice on use feasibility or potential problems to be aware of. Thanks to all,
Mike

that should be great iron in an amp. The only downside is the 2 ohm like you mentioned which isnt too bad since those old fender trannies can take mismatches pretty well
It's true i've lost my marbles and i cant remember where i put them
