output tranny for badcat hotcat30
I am building a clone of the hotcat 30. I have an output tranny from a jtm45 build i did awhile ago and am wondering how i can figure if it would work. I am the noob that sets his goals way beyond his skills.

8k is the primary impedance of the JTM45 output transformer.
Essentially this is the load that the valves will see if you connect the transformer to an 8ohm speaker.
Now for a Badcat 30 which is essentially a Vox AC30 power section you want 4k..
Trainwreck amplifiers have used 5.2k in this application without trouble and I've used 6.6k myself.
8k.. well I think you're pushing it there but I imagine it would work, others will confirm but you're going to loose power if you use this transformer in that application.. you could use it for a pair of EL84s though for 15w as they want to see 8k load, might be a bit overspec'd interms of wattage but the impedance would be correct.
