Which model did you buy?
If you look right above your thread, there is the info about #124 amp.

A member has outlined what each control does.
Yours sounds like it has the OD gain trimmer on the back.
That is to fine tune how much gain your OD channel has and works in conjunction with the front Drive control.
I don't know which amp you bought but they are all about the same in operation.
Turn your Preamp volume up to 12:00, turn the PowerAmp volume to how loud you want the over all amp to be.
For the Overdrive, turn the Drive control to how much drive or saturation you want, then use the Level control to balance the OD volume with the clean volume.
Of course the Treble, Mid and Bass controls are self explanatory as well as the Presence for brilliance.
The PAB is Preamp Boost, what this does is take the tone stack out of the circuit and so you recover the loss the stack takes out due to it's passive design. So you can use that for soloing or a more throaty, growlier tone.
Basically it just takes some time to dial it in to what sounds the best to your ears.
Speaker choice can be very important with these amps.
I use the EVM 12L speakers but a lot of guys swear by the Celestion 1265 speakers.
Have fun!

Be sure to check out the Celestion 1265 speaker as well.
It tends to sound a bit smoother with a more rounded top end than the EVM.
Honestly, I kind of wish I had gotten two 1265's instead.
But the EVM's are brutal speakers for sure and can handle a lot of punishment.
Is your amp a 100w?

I found a huge difference playing the heck out of it for a few days. I then retubed with my favorite glass and rebiased. Sounds fantastic. A few months of hard playing is what these things need me thinks. Greg.
