Attenuator De-fizz idea

Post by madditch »

So I was playing with a Zobel filter and thought this could work as a way to de-fizz the AB III at higher attenuation levels. So I built a quick in-line box to test it with very good results! Here is the proposed layout, the values are for an 8 ohm load and it should handle up to 100Watts.
Let me know what you think.

How did you arrive at the values for the cap and resistor on the de-fizz?

These values are recommended as a good starting place for an 8ohm speaker, you can mess with the cap value to roll more or less highs off. Here is a Zobel calculator. http://www.carstereo.com/help/Articles.cfm?id=36
