How can I get my ODS to be more "on the edge of out of control"?

Correct Martin, some Ods have the plate wire from the inverting side close to the gnfb or speaker wire.

Either way it's routed in a "safe" way, and not used as a mechanism to promote feedback.

A long time ago I tried coupling the GNFB wire to various spots throughout the preamp and PI to see if I can somehow generate some + feedback and instability and didn't have much luck..Maybe some else here has tried this with more success??

In a marshall style circuit the GNFB wire normally causes a squeal if placed near preamp wires

Sure!. I could get the thing to squeal but was just unable to control it??

+1 on the GNFB pot. I left it in. I used a 100k pot and it seems to go from stock smooth setting into Ripper territory with plenty of in between. I set it differently for different guitars and rooms.
