I'm confused by what you mean by this.
Are you saying powering up immediately by just flipping the on switch on a rack mounted power strip will not harm the tube (i.e. no warm up needed)?? thanks
That is bascially what I am saying, since we're talking about a 12AX7 here. I actually dont know of any other units (rackmount or pedals) that use a 12AZ& tube and that have a "standby" switch on them.
At the time of the photo the EH was the HAD recommended 12AX7 (according to his tech IIRC). I think I've read that the more recent re-tube may have been done by LC's tech.
