I would like to say its fantastic but I think this needs a little tweeking , the bottom needs tightening up a little, the HRM definatly needs to go and I need to get a little more response on the eq, its pretty subtle

All suggestions gratefully received and if your in blighty I,ll even buy you a beer
Put the HRM on a lift switch so you can keep the option, when you have burned everything in after some 80 hours, might be worth revisiting.
Tubes, speakers etc etc will all influence how the HRM sounds :-)
Hmm, good idea, I think the first thing to do is switch it to the original bluesmaster layout rather than the Ceria version and see where I am, I did only run it with a old set of Boogie branded 6l6 until I,ve tested it plus most of my voltage are a little higher than expected , around 20v higher on average.
I,ll post the voltages later but I,m not that concerned as we are pretty close to a substation and do get the full 240v rather than the average 230v

Got the HRM working correctly after correcting some off the ceriatone "improvements" much happier now with the drive, tube wise any suggestions for decent 6l6 types that will work, I have a line on some Sylvania tubes over here that are all testing 70%, NOS is totally out the question , no amp is worth £80 per tube

I have always liked Winged C 6L6 but they are expensive, too. You may be pleasantly surprised by inexpensive Sovtek 5881 tubes in a Bluesmaster. They are cheap and they RAWK.....

A bit of tuning, tweaking and generally driving the missus mad its pretty much there I believe, granted for the purist its not sounding like a classic Dumble especially with my choice of speakers but the clean is to die for no matter what I plug in, takes pedals pretty well, the inbuilt buffered loop works thanks to Martin and co for the help, the dirt has a huge amount of gain on tap, far to much for me to use normally so the trim is dialled back a bit, the HRM is there or there about, clips to follow when I get 5 minutes
Cheers all :D

Ok, so after giving it a run out I have a few questions for the more experienced builders, basically this is a great blues amp, great cleans and good drive but possibly not enough for me, with the input pushed up to around 6 great lead sound but overdriven clean, dial the gain back on the input and superb clean and a great crunch,
Is it possible or even advisable to mod it to get more gain on tap without compromising the clean or maybe I would be better switching to a normal HRM which from experience has more than enough gain on tap, all suggestions gratefully received :)

For reference, what schematic did you build to? If I understand correctly, you are good with the clean, but only if the preamp volume is kept low, but then to get the OD you want you have to crank up the input volume? Sounds like you might want to adjust or alter the OD entrance. Have you tried different settings of the trimmer?

Are you tuning the OD entrance and HRM trimmers by ear or starting with some specific values? And that PAB isn't wired as the "mega boost" in the Dumble files section is it? I grew to love that - where at first I wasn't bonding with it. Here is a note from where my trimmers are and it is working for me with a little sniggle here and there since back then.

FWIW I never play the OD without the boost on. It frees up the the HRM trimmers to truly manage the OD tone.

Hi, I have the HRM trimmers set from info on the site, the OD entrance is pretty much maxed out, I gain goose the clean gain to around 4-5 before I get breakup which is around what I would expect, I used the ceria scheme initially but reverted to the posted bluesmaster layout all barring the PAB,
I will be dialling the HRM back a little on the bass end as its pretty bass heavy with the closed back cab I normally use.
Stelligen, I will try the mid boost as it looks easy enough to implement and any advice on the HRM settings you use would be appreciated.
Martin, I have the OD entrance trimmer mounted on the back panel and will have a play with it b ut I suspect given I use buckers on most guitars the clean is as high as it goes without breakup which is affecting my drive.

Still got to say its a great amp , just needs a little tweaking
