In my build I changed the bass channel into a wreck k50 preamp - the circuit is quite similar. the 6g6b cleans up a little better in my amp, but the k50 sounds better

Just a follow up, I delivered this Bassman in a new blonde head cabinet about 3 weeks ago. The customer is just loving it with his Tele and LP. He's loves the bass channel with the LP and his Tele with the normal channel.

What changes did you do to the Bass Channel other than these?;
Bass chan vol - 250KA stock value
Bass chan Bass pot - 100KA w/ 3.3K tail
Bass TS stack - .02, with all Bass chan couplers changed to .02
Bass slope - 43K
TS cap - 330pf
PI= 750 and 8.2K tail
Bass cathodes - 4.7uf
Gridstoppers - 6.2K

A recomendation to anyone building the 6G6B, always use a high quality Silver Mica PI Input cap rated for at least 500VDC (Cornell Doblier) or expect trouble as this is one of the Direct coupled fenders and the cheaper SM caps don't hold up!!!
