Also, very important. The input jack is too close to the rock jazz switch. You'll need to move it over a bit. I had a hell of a time getting the jack that close to the large form switches I'm using.

Icetech wrote:Pete, you are good... i didnt bother with pin 4 on either before.. since i don't know what pin4 is for:) anyway.. on the HOT tube.. 430v at pni4..
on the cold tube.. 0-300MV sorta rises from 0 to 300 when i use the meter on it.. and MV not V... so..
And son of a bitch... as i was writing this, i went to check the 1.5k resistors to see if the one had cooked.. and low and behold... the solder point for the resistor at pin6 is broken so should be fixed in a few mins...
This is the second solder point that has gone like this on me.. i REALLY have to start taking my time and make sure things are right:(
thanks a ton, i was bout to check everything from v1 to the rectifier... was looking forward to a long night...
Hey Ice, glad I could help, I don't get the chance that often. Plenty of folks here more capable than I and I'm certainly thankful for their contributions.
Yes, good soldering skills are a must. Get in and get out quickly, with plenty of heat to give good flow.
yeah.. went through and re-routed alot of stuff tonight... i concentrated so hard on the preamp/PI, that i didnt really think much of the power tube wiring.. tonight i was looking at it like WTF... just a mess.. cleaned it all up and got rid of a oscilation prob i been having.. just a couple more things and i think i will call this one done:) (they are never done really)
