I wonder what HAD did when he put the Ultraphonic mod in a Fender classic amp? Anyone know?
Turned it more into a Marshall..

hmmmm???

I'm wondering if someone took a Dumblish amp and crossed it with a Marshall .............. if they would get something like this?

With respect, 10thtx

I don't have any more big development plans on the circuit at the time. I'm thinking of how good it might sound with a Zendrive or Plushdrive in front of it.

You are to be congratulated and thanked for such a fine piece of forensic research, planning and execution. The results are truly excellent.
By rolling your own, you also portray the same basic elements that Alexander has used his entire life of building amplifiers. One of the more fascinating aspects of his work and subsequently the work done by folks like us, is the building blocks of putting things together and making them work right without a cookie cutter approach. While you made a dramatic attempt at producing a likeness of the amplifier, you absolutely created your own in the process and by that I mean you made it real and right in every possible way without benefit of consultation from Alexander himself. To me, that is as good as it gets and made even better because you so unselfishly shared with all of us. This is a terrific thread and illustrates why the amp building community can be such a dynamic and wonderful place to create.
Thank you very much!

Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement.

Here is a recent picture with the new faceplate.

I hope no one is offended that the name Dumble is on it. I have strong feelings that inanimate objects don't and can't commit fraud. Humans commit fraud. This replica was constructed for educational and historical purposes as part of my guitar and ampllifier collection. It is not a commercial product, it is not for sale, and it has always been presented as a replica of Dumble's genius. The amps construction by me, and not Mr. Dumble, has been clearly documented on this internet forum for all to see. I think having anyone els's name on it, besides Dumble, would be a disservice to Mr Dumble.

Of course that is just my opinion and I respect other's opinions that may differ from above.

Anyway, here it is:

Here's why I value your efforts so much. The 59 Bassman circuit is an icon, spawning Marshall amps, and with a little tweaking Vox amps.

Seeing a designer like Alexander's take on this is pure gold.

I have commissioned Taylor at Amplified Nation to build a cabinet for the Manzamp replica.

I see the 4x12 cabinet thread, so maybe we will get some in-progress pictures of the 4x10 cabinet also?
