yes, Hans-Christian Nickel is IMO a great woodwind and woodwind-controler player and an outstanding composer, too.
Here's a link to the mp3 files of "Hey Now, Hey China": http://www.amazon.com/Hey-Now-China/dp/ ... 5&sr=301-1
And here you can listen for free to all the songs and order the CD (PayPal button): http://element113.de/en/repertoire.html

BTW, Sax is not technically a woodwind.

BTW, Sax is not technically a woodwind. It's often played by woodwind players, but it's a class of instrument in itself. I play sax, but not woodwinds
Because you play sax, the content of this site may perhaps be interesting for you. Here you find a lot of information concerning all the different woodwind instruments and how they work in a technical sense: http://www.phys.unsw.edu.au/jw/woodwind.html
And have lots of fun with Hans-Christian's music. I'll tell him that you like his music and playing.
Cheers,
Max

Re: Dumble video/sound clip reference, real Dumbles only please
I think a couple of these videos have been posted at The Amp Garage before, but thought I'd add them to the thread.
Robben Ford and The Blue Line - 1993
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xyX_74rJlgY
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5mupnFN0Eg
As well as this clip from the same time period: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=He0sqy1NA34
I could be wrong, but these clips sound more like a Bluesmaster to me than the stuff with his current rig. Like "Strong Will To Live" vs. "Rugged Road". Personal opinion, these examples as well as "Strong Will To Live" are definitely my favorite Ford tone (really favorite tone period). So fat sounding.

It apears to be a box shaped like the Odyssey Power amp EJ liked so much with his Manzamp/Phoenix pre he is believed to have owned. It is also possible that he's using the SSS preamp out into the Odyssey pwr amp. Also Could the Manzamp pre be in his rack? Did he ever use it @ live gigs? To my knowledge this pre/power config was used on Ah via and some other recordings
What a F' in great guitar sound!!

I think its a more recent ODS, not new. Maybe from the late 90's
If you look at the front panel it looks almost new, I think Sonny has owned it for years as I've seen it in video clips back to 2004-5.

Here is Mike Landau with what I assume is his new one but it has the older style silverfave and font.

Yes... black suede, silverface with chicken feet knobs... And man, does it sound sweet! Hard to tell from that clip, but I have heard it a couple of times in person - sounds killer!pinner wrote:Here is Mike Landau with what I assume is his new one but it has the older style silverfave and font.

Landau didn't get the memo that you can't use single coils with a dumble
