The thing to remember is even if someone thinks you are a fool that is THEIR opinion, it is far better to just do your thing. People will say what they say, and do what they do and all we can control about that is our reaction/interpretation. If you give up worrying what people think then you become free from it and have an opening to create new possibilities- and you have time to realize that they are just as scared of what you think about them as you are about what they think about you.

Interesting...Probably worth noting almost every project in my life that was cool, unique, and beyond the normal persons general perception (not just amps, I build a lot of strange things) was put down by some bonehead who thought it was not possible.

glad to be out of high school. Those are the guys that are now working at mickey-D's.

Good work funk! can you give us any details like tube compliment?
it really is a journey, and you just cant farm out the battle wounds

sure, 4x6550, 1x 5751, 4x 12ax7. FWIW, this amp was not a best guess scenario, I've had a couple SSS amps come across my bench :D

Hi Brandon,

Why not the 12AU7/12BH7 Inverter/Driver structure you found in one of the two modern ones? Did you like the other one without the "Dumbleland Inverter" better in some way?

5751=reverb driver?

Cheers and have a great time rocking the walls of your house!

Hey Funk nice job on the HPD. I'm really interested in hearing some clips displaying the use of the filter switches, and some good verb clips too.

player reaction?
Be nice to hear about what people expect then hear, when you play this type of machine.

It's exciting to see Brandon is getting this under way.
As a teenager opening for Eric Johnson, I was able to play through his 150w SSS, and since that time I've played through a number of other Dumbles and some repros...his SSS had its own thing that nothing else seems to. Very different from most ODS' I've played. Much bigger and meaner, but with just a hint of sweetness.
Huge sound.

Next weekend you can stop by the NY amp show and hear it for yourself.

I liked the true "SSS" PI section better than the "Dumbleland" PI, this one you can get some drive out of using the FET and PAB, very Ah Via Musicom with a fuzzface :wink:
