I am having trouble viewing posted pics. For some reason they are not coming up when I open a link or thread. In any event the best I can guess...the wiper attaches to the 2 10 uf caps..anothe leag connects to the 47k res and the first leg to ground? I sure would appreciate any input on this.

You need to be logged in the view pics. For some reason, there are days I have to log in each time I restart my browser.

Your board has three turrets where the bias pot is? Believe you connect the wiper to one of the end pot lugs.

thanks for the reply Gearhead...I am logged in when I open threads with pics they just dont load and I can not view them. In any event the wiper and an end lug hook together and to the caps and ground and the other lug goes to the 47k res? That makes sense to me actually. I guess I will give it a try. If someone else reads this and I am wrong please let me know.I would be grateful..

One lug goes to the 47K resistor. The wiper goes to the 10uf cap, which is connected to ground. The third lug also ties to the same turret that the 10uf and ground wire are attached to. I ran a wire jumper for this on the bottom side of the board to make it neater.. either way works.

The original layout drawing did not have this, but Tim Hulsey updated it to reflect that I think... I just can't find that version to show you...

Sorry Guns, I was at the NJ Ampshow all weekend. Here is a picture showing the underboard connections in baby blue. Ken did all his boards like this starting in late 80's

No problem Allyn...thanks for following up with me. What kind of trim pot is that one? It looks like only 2 lugs are hooked up in that pic

Well my trannys arrived today. I am going to try to get them fit to the chassis tonight and depending on time get a bit more accomplished. I have almost everything now to finish so I am excited to make some quality progress.

Hi Allyn, I notice in the picture you posted that you've grounded your bias supply at the main cap ground. Francesca shows it grounded with the ac grounds. Has your methode proven quieter?

I got the trannys mounted today and the standoffs for the boards all situated today. I used the rubber grommets on all 3 penetrations from the trannys. It is coming together quite well..I think anyhow. I still have to find a strain releif for Allyns chassis and the power switch is on back order for about 6 more weeks..I am going to look eleswhere. Is it a dpdt? or a dpst? I notice in the pics it has 6 lugs. Is it on-none-on or how exactly does it work?I guess the varistor and the setup has me a bit confused. I have never seen it before. Any help is greatly appreciated.

GnG'04, you can use a DPDT or a DPST there. The two lugs on the bottom aren't used anyway. They are On-On switches if you use DPDT. Connect the tranny primaries on the middle two lugs with a MOV. Connect the hot and Neutral from the power cable and fuse holder to the top two and done. I connect the 120V indicator to the middle two also.

Thanks Allyn..I really appreciate it. 1 More thing though. What grommet dos your chassis take for the power cord? I cant find anything that fits it.

gng04, Are you using SJO sized 3 conductor for the AC entrance? That was my choice, and the item I believe you're asking about is the strain relief. (It prevents the AC line from being jerked off it's moorings and causing death or worse!) Heyco makes some adequate ones. But they won't fit the existing hole.
You'll need your favorite files/die grinder/Dremel to maintain the "Double-D" shape as you enlarge it equally. Get the hole to accept the chosen strain relief without the power cord & you're almost there. Little more grinding to clean up all the edges.
Get the slipjoint pliers and put a layer of protection between the jaws and the cord/strain relief assembly to compress the works when you can no longer do it by finger squeeze.

Unless you have that trick tool they make for this job!
Oddly:
The double-d hole was the correct size for my fuse holder. That would've prevented a chance for fuse holder to "windmill".

The frustrations overall weren't overwhelming thankfully----
