Definitely like to hear the comments. When You are swapping one resistor/cap on the circuit and try to listen which sounds best hour after hour one gets deaf easily.Since ¨mat¨ was so kind to make some clips (couple of months ago I remember the best clip, named ¨sloppy 96¨, that I have heard on this Web page, with his non-HRM amp), and present them here, it can be generally assumed that he invited comments from readers/members of this forum.
Agreedthis particular HRM leaves something to be desired ...

I just love Larrys sound and touch. It is different than Robbens but I love them both. I was hoping to get more of the Robben/dogears sound with this HRM build. As people know, oh so well, everyone has some wishes in terms of HOW the amp should sound, so there is a wide spectrum of possibilities and options. I do not favor Santana and Larry Carlton ¨smooth and buttery¨ sounds
To me those three amazing players sound quite different from each other. Bonamassas sound is amazingly good but I wouldnt say it is the dumble sound. More like very good Marshall sound., but would rather lean towards Steve Ray Vaughn, Joe Bonamassa, Danny Gatton, ... more clean, more aggressive, more ¨edgy¨ types of sounds ... and therefore, naturally, EXPECT to hear that sound.
This present HRM sound, as demonstrated by the clip on this thread, makes it neither to ¨smooth and buttery¨, nor to ¨clean, edgy and active¨ type of sound.
Finally, I would like to praise ¨mat¨ for his excellent guitar playing skills, his nice phrasing, smooth style and dynamics. I really, really enjoy his clips, because they are made by such a good guitar player ... that helps, indeed!
I'm surely not that good of a player. Just a tone-nut that gets exited when getting a good tone out of a amp

Anyway, thanks for Your kind words.Volume and Master knobs at ¨1 or 2¨ really do not represent the true sound of amplifiers as they are meant to sound in the real world.
Its hard for me to crank the amp at home and I don't have yet a recording equipment on our reherseal place. After the summer I think we have some kind of recording setup..

After the summer I think we have some kind of recording setup..You might want to check these clips. They are among the best dumble like clips IMHO (with a REALLY good player): http://www.woodys-guitar-world.co.uk/wo ... /trSig.htmAll the best, and thanks for making us all this knowledge and experience available and so helpful.
The clean is nice but when hitting the strings with more weight the amp barks-makes very loud sound (not broken sound but very loud note) if that makes any sense. I'm lost with this one... I think I will leave it for few days.
