What I have done on my Dumble amps is add a .01uF 1Kv ceramic disc across the standby switch.

The only problem with the resistor across the switch is that the amp will not be muted all the way when switched to standby.
should be muted with a 220+k resistor

Thanks for clarifying that.

I believe I saw a 100K used before and the description said it wouldn't mute it all the way.
