I just wanted to add to the thread that I am a big Joe Walsh fan and have been since HS days.
He was an early influence due to his being a local/regional act before breaking national when "Rides Again" came out.
The first James Gang album "Yer Album" is also recommended for fans and ranks up there with later releases.

I went to Kent State and for some reason the James Gang was very popular and always playing around Kent as well as my hometown of Youngstown.
One particular show I remember (Idora Park) was when James gang came off a tour with The Who sporting a backline of HiWatt amps. They were on the bill with the headline act The Eagles who were on their first national tour with their first top 10 hit "Witchy Woman".

Funk 49 was always a song that I worked into the act in almost every band I played with, and later used a medley of Funk48 and 49. (Funk 48 was on Yer Album)
One of my favorite James Gang songs is Midnight Man.

Recently "Deep Tracks" on XM radio played Funk 48, 49, and 50 back to back. They all sounded great. One of Americas great guitarists.

Woot! We have a tradition of opening one gift on Christmas Eve. Guess what I'm listening to? Joe's new release "Analog Man."

The guitar tones are amazing.
