Im using much smaller filters than most do on these amps.2x 100uf.Still lookin around for a 250k pot.I'll put a guitar pot in there if i have to just to see if it helps.

Gary, the bass pot size has no effect on the actual bass. Pot is wired as a variable resistor so the only thing that changes is the setting. A 500K audio is just fine..... In fact, it is slower than the 250K linears that he also used. Save your attention for something else. This is not it.

Do you play on the bridge pup? Neck humbucker tone can be muddy with the Skyline config..... Bridge is perfect.

yes bridge mostly,on overdrive.I just piddled with the Duncan TSC and its showing me the difference in the .01 mid cap i have and the .047.I know its not accurate for the ODS but it does at least show a HUGE bass curve difference between the two caps so Im going to change that.

Thanks for clearing that up Scott, I thought that that was the case with the bass pot as it is as you say wired as a variable resistor. I read somewhere that the TR CRS has a 1K between bass pot and ground, rather than the skyliner config which has 10K, does this make much difference to bass response?

I'm confused...can someone explain the effect of the filter caps on the bass? Big caps make it tighter...looser...bigger...??

Bigger filter caps make the low end more tight.

yes. Also when filter caps are in series for each node, like a bluesmaster, the overall response is reacting faster.
