I've got a huge stash of Ruby/ Magic Parts polypro orange drops. Anyone familiar with these guys in a dumble type build?

I'm also curious to find out if the guys here that have built both a non HRM amp and HRM amp, both 100w, which style do you prefer to play?

Built both and still play both with a dumblelator.
HRM is better if you're a heavy consistent picker. It's very attack sensitive.
If you're more a legato player you probably like the Non-HRM better. Non_hrm is easier to play.

HRM controls on the front: several builders are doing that: Glaswerks, Two Rock. It takes some time to develop and test. The position of the pots are very important otherwise you end up with humming amp.

I've noticed that with my non HRM 50.
It seems to sound better with slower runs with lighter attack.
It does OK with faster runs but I can imagine the HRM is faster.
I'm just looking for a better balance or match between clean and overdrive tone.

Hi there I have been lurking and learning here for a while.
I recently added a 5e3 single knob hrm stack on the front of my amp. It works great with a strat or humbuckers.

I wired in the true 5e3 as per the upper schem. with a.01 and
100k in series. I know it's off the resevation but sounds awesome.

What kind of trim do you experience with it?

Like, does it only take treble off of the tone?

I have it set near the middle from there you get more bass or more treble.
A poor mans hrm lol. Whats good about it is you can put the caps on the pot, not a lot of board work involved.

My amp is a 100k pre with 22uf 1.5 cathode as per fender
with a fender ab763 bass and treble no pab or mid boost.220 150 OD.
Trying for Henrys redplate sound....stress trying!

Try tweaking it towards the 094 schematic. ie: non-hrm, non-skyliner, non-precision power supply. You might like it. I haven't had my chassis out of it's cabinet in months.

recently added a 5e3 single knob hrm stack on the front of my amp.

I have an HRM tone stack on my cathode biased D-HRM.

On a different amp, I have a 5E3 tone stack on a Dumblish OD that follows a pentode V1 and then a V2 with a CF.

I find the 5E3 tone stack to be MUCH easier for me to dial in the tone I want for the OD channel and seems to have a wider range of tone that I can dial in. I found it signficantly easier to come closer matching the tone of the clean and OD channel using the 5E3.
