Re: bud chassis run
i'd like a 60's dumble chassis too. I just need the time to leave visio and everyone to agree on the font.

Re: bud chassis run
And I thought I was the only one with a pair of clones built on AC-425s!
Trust me it ain't easy getting all the holes in the right places. Still a step bit works nicely, along with socket punches and the thin stuff cuts pretty easily.
That said, I'd try and request one detail on any special order. I've seen two versions of this chassis. The earlier one (as used in most originals) has triangular cutouts in the back upper corners and two spot welds per corner. The later versions (I think the Thunderfunk built wreck is on one) has just one weld per corner and square cutouts. If possible I'd see if they would be willing to do the two spot weld per corner version, though they may not be setup for that anymore. That said my two clones are built on the later chassis and I've had no weld problems, but the two weld version does look a bit stronger. Still the only issue I've had with these was with getting nutserts to work well on the bottom plate as the plate is so thin it can egg out easily and pull out and/or get loose. The nutserts go where the 4 dimples are on the original, to give you a place to bolt the chassis down to the cab. I had a nutsert pull on my original (and Ken sent me a replacement and a simple install tool) and in a deja vu fashion one went on one of my clones. I used a backing washer to give it more support when I replaced it and it's been fine. The trick is also to make the hole for the nutsert with a very tight initial fit before you do the final install.

Re: bud chassis run
I am in for 3 please! PM or email me with details when you get them worked out.
Re: bud chassis run
I'm working out shipping and total cost with the sales rep at the moment for the complete order.
After I get a total cost I can divide it and give an actual total per item.
I'm also working out packaging and shipping from me to you. so you will know the final cost.
Glen thank you for the heads up I was not aware they changed production. I will ask about the square or triangle one or two welds. that would have pissed me off!!! and this is a custom no return order!!!

Re: bud chassis run
here is the latest in response to the double weld. reads bottom to top.
I've emailed the information requested... now we wait. Thought it is exciting it's not just the typical "we make what we make, take it or leave it!" answer.
I will have estimating provide a quote as that may be an old version. Pricing is based on how we currently build the product. Please provide your company name and address for a formal quote as this no longer becomes a "standard" item. Jenene

is it possible to get the double spot weld with triangle corners?
