Re: Effect Pedal building
Please note: On the Vintage Output circuit, a 220K resistor was between the .1uF output cap and the 500K pot. In my haste to get the schematic out, I accidentally omitted the resistor. I have corrected the schematic and neatened it. My apologies if this has caused any trouble.

Re: Effect Pedal building
Madbean has a modded (runs on +17v) Echoplex pre schematic with pcb art build document as well as boards available.

OT...maybe ten pages of replies warrants a separate effects pedals forum?
Re: Effect Pedal building
Valid observation, Surf!
That MadBean's interesting.
In a sidenote, for those who build the preamp and find it bright for their tastes, it's worth noting that Mike Battle eliminated the .02uF source resistor bypass cap on the next variation of the EP . The version posted is considered by corksniffers as the most toneful. I think a 5K variable resistor in series between the cap and ground would make an interesting "Version 1-Version 2" mod.

Trem pedal
My fellow stomp-box builders, can I get a recommend on a Tremolo pedal build. It must have a volume knob, boost looks interesting as well but primarily I am interested in great trem pedal.
Thanks Ange

Re: Effect Pedal building
My favorite is the Tremulus Lune...

Everything from subtle to absolute stutter!
I'm thinking to put the coarse speed on an internal trimpot and using the extra hole for a blend with the clean signal.

Re: Effect Pedal building
Another one to check out is the EA tremolo, the boost in that one is often recommended as being worth building as a stand alone.

A recent refinement of the Tremulus Lune is the 'Shoot the Moon'.

Lots and lots of simple boosters out there, ideal for breadboard workouts, quick to put together and audition.

Re: Effect Pedal building
Here's a demo, put up today by the developer of another tremolo option, pretty versatile little box.

Re: Effect Pedal building
I have built a couple of the EA Trem circuits from General Guitar Gadgets and really like them!

I always include the trem defeat switch to get one of the cleanest straight boost effects that I have ever heard.
Cheers,
Dave O.

Re: Effect Pedal building
Sweet! Tap tempo and wave form variation ability is very cool.
My only suggestion: Think twice about using the super bright blue LED. I have put those in a few of my pedals and wish that I hand't. It will almost blind you if you accidently look down directly at it! Sure does make for some cool lighting effects on the ceiling of venue if they are low.
Cheers,
Dave O.
