I have a Ceriatone Express. Have tried a lot of different things. What I have so far is:
V1-5751, V2-5751, V3-12AT7.
Coupling caps, 2x .022 Mallory, 2x .100 O Drop, 2x .047 Mallory.
Bright switch is selectable between 100pf and 500pf.
V1 has a 68k on pin 7, shielded wire to the input jack.
NFB is 51k and a .100 cap.
The grid resistors are 3 watt 4.7k SED EL34's.
It has the stock Ceriatone filtering and OT.

I have new prod Tung Sol 12AX7's in V1 and V2. Not too long ago I change the PI to a nice NOS 12AT7, and I just love the change it made. Without losing the character of an Express, it just made the amp a little more polite, and made it much more usable for chords (IMHO).

BTW - I never turn the amp volume above 12:00. Most time, it is at 10:30 to 11:00.

Well most of us agreed the 12AT7 in V3 is working out well for us. I had read in the new book I got by Merlin to not use a matched tube for the PI, but that seem funny since some use balance controls and such their?
