ODS HRM in a Rock band, clips

Post by Bob-I »

We hear so many jazzy type clips where these amps sound awesome, but they're also useful in Rock settings. I use a Peavey VT combo converted to Dumble HRM in a 2x12 combo, EMi Swamp Thang/Tonker. The Tonker is miked through the PA. for most of the gig I played a Tex-Mex Strat with Fralin PU's, some songs I used an Epi Sheriton with Loller's. No effects other than the reverb.

For this recording I hung a simple dynamic mike about 5 feet in front of the FOH and a second over the stage. These were plugged into an Alesis ProTrack which records direct to .wav on an iPod.

More recordings on the web site. Use the Jukebox in the top frame.

Thx, but 74 views and one comment. Here's a pic of the singer, maybe that'll draw some comments.

I can't really tell from the picture, but it seems like a possibility.
Sounds rockin'! Grind-y with good depth and definition.
I agree, very pleasing overdrive tone!

Nice.... and the amp sounds good to0 :).

But seriously folks, I have always thought the HRM amps had a better R&R feel to them. The bottom end note definition is much superior to my ears than say a skyline non-HRM.

Nice! Oh, and the tone is great too... Love the Led Zeppelin cover, always one of my favorite Zep songs. I usually have to use a pedal to that much crunch.

That HRM rawks! I agree with the others that have said an HRM does a better job for this kind of stuff. Sounds good.
