Marshall treble pot

Post by Buschman »

Just scored a 1978 Mk2 100 watt. The treble pot is bad. Any idea where i can get an exact or vintage replacement. I hate it when deoxit doesnt work

It is a JMP. I am 51 years old, played 42 years, never had a 100 watt Marshall. Geeze. Nothing quite like banging out Dirty White Boy or smoke on the Water while sh** falls off the wall and shelves. :D I am having fun.

Are you sure the pot is bad? You could have a leaky coupling cap in the treble circuit. DC leakage from coupling cap causes scratchy pot.

It's more than scratchy. It cuts out when you touch it.

Looks like you need a 250K audio taper pot.
