Tim I knew you were very talented... but this is way cool...
I built one like Structo (Tom), but it does not work with a TW- the trannys are too close to the edge. How does your clamp attach with the iron installed (i.e. is there room)???
My cradle cost about the same and took quite a while to build..... Just goes to show you what good edjamacation can do for you!
I bet you're a hoot in the OR, crackin' wise and suchlike.
I'll post some pics of an amp cradle made in the 40s or 50s to really exacerbate the potentially covetous. I played Hell trying to adapt a
less permanent and more residential surface friendly mounting system.
God bless the extruded Aluminum fambly and all their contributions.

I love this forum. Those cradles pictured above are works of art. I usually just cut some scrap wood and make a new cradle if one of the ones I have work for a build, like these :

Man, I would like to believe that, but if I had some cool robotic lookin' amp cradle, maybe even CNC controlled with a video link on YouTube, then maybe I could get somebody to pay a decent price for my amps!
BTW, I am comforted by the thought that the condition of my bench indicates that I am totally sane. I just don't understand why the pics of my lame amp cradles didn't post. I'll try again :

Quiet as a mouse. You'd never know I was there except for the splashing

Does it say Panavise anywhere on that cradle The clamping portion sure looks like a Panavise 376 head.

Very nice Aren't you familiar with the old Norwegian proverb: A clean workbench is the signed of a deranged mind
Nope, it doesn't say Panavise, but I'll be damned if they don't look like
their product fastened to some square tubes. The round "hub" if you will,
has the raised lettering on the casting indicating:
Flotron Ind., Inc.
El Segundo, Califas.
Both you & KT-66 made a very nice looking product! I especially admire
how the footprint is kept to the bare essentials and the use of existing technologies to achieve what was necessary.
