try "winged c" el34's since svetlana was bought outa while back these are the real svetlana tubes now....they have way more bass and depth than any other el34 i have tried also i like tesla ecc83s for preamp tubes they are much like the old ones very linear tone responce just a tad less gain than other brands like that 's a problem in these amps...lol
