Insulated pots?

Post by arfy »

This is going to be my first experience with an aluminum chassis and also with a high gain amp.
My question is, if I'm running a ground buss wire across the back of the pots and grounding the cathodes to it, don't I need to use insulated pots? As far as I can figure it would create a ground loop otherwise. But maybe I'm not getting it.
Any comments or experiences?

Don't insulate them. Think of them as one big single connection to the chassis. Provided you don't connect your circuit ground to the chassis anywhere else, this will work fine.
