At some point, you, TXBluesBoy and I should have a North TX Trainwreck seminar... if you can stand an old git who is way out of practice....

I am playing my '69 ES335 through a Evidence Audio Lyric HG cable. I just got the cable in today, and I am VERY impressed. The top end is really sweet, not harsh like my George L's were.
I still need to tweak the amp a little. I have had a few problems with microphonic tubes and tube rattle. Any new production 12AX7(atleast the ones I have tried) are all way too microphonic to work in V1. I tried a long plate Sylvania in that spot. The tone was great, but it also was a bit too microphonic. I have a short plate Sylvania that works in V1, but itsnt as sweet sounding. I also have a Brimar which is extremely low in microphonics ans sounds pretty good. Right now, I have a Mullard in there. It is low in microphonics, and sounds GREAT, but I think it has a little tube rattle.
You cant quite tell on the video, but when I sustain a long note, it isnt as super smooth as Glen's real wreck. There is a little bit of intermittent noise. I think it might be a tube problem?
