Better Liverpool power board layout: Twreck or Ceriatone?

Post by joebob »

Which power board layout is preferred with builders. The Ceriatone layout has put all the parts on one board, which is nice. But it has changed some values. Does that make a big difference in tone or anything?

They both work fine, but it really depends on what you are going for with the amp. Accurate reproduction of a Wreck, or a Wreck like amp. Tonally, well that is totally subjective.

I've been wondering this as well. I'm thinking that I will lean towards the Ceriatone layout for the caps because I see a good spot where the usual stack-o-caps would be that can be used for a VVR from Dana.
I was thinking of going with his cap can idea, but this way makes a couple less holes that have to be added to the ceriatone chassis.
As far as tone, or experience in building these, I cannot yet comment.
