Just a heads up that this is tomorrow, Saturday June 21st!geetarpicker wrote:(I edited the title of this thread for my clinic back in April, this is about another one coming up in June)
Just a heads up to the fellow Amp Garage folks that I'm doing another guitar clinic in Nashville (NAMM SHOW WEEK) on Saturday June 21st, 2008.
I'll also be performing at the Chicago Ampfest on 23rd, and I'm working on several out of state guitar clinics and will keep you all posted.
In the meantime hope to see some folks in Nashville, TN on June 21st!

Glen - Wreck 'em with all the Tone and Taste you got, Brother. If they have ears and a heart, your work is just gettting to the gig.
Most people stall out when fixing a mistake that they've made. Why?

Glen - OK, I'll come back here - How did the gig/clinic go? I hope you had some fun and made a few friends, of course. Let me know.

The clinic went very well! I'd estimate about 25 folks showed up almost all new faces, with some coming as far as 3 hours away. I was quite happy with the turnout, considering it's darn hard in Nashville with an impressive guitarist on every street corner living in a box
. Also it was NAMM week and the Gibson Summer Jam too. That said, the SAM ASH guys said it was the best clinic they ever had at this store so THAT is cool.
Several folks picked up up my CD and also asked plenty of questions about how I was getting my sounds along with some theory questions. Also I use a VERY compact 1x12 speaker setup (13x13.5x7.5 and only 13lbs) for my clinics, attenuated but then actually miked into a small PA. I have a few tricks to make it all sound quite like a 4x12 out front, and also to still get the trademark Trainwreck sustain without pealing the paint too bad. I used pre-recorded backing tracks so that I was able to perform tunes from my CD.
The SAM ASH regional rep also saw my clinic and gave a thumbs up and some #s to call about doing a clinic at the Atlanta store. I'll keep you all posted on that.
Thanks folks!

maybe you could record a good sounding video of the clinic .. put it online, and when people see that, they may want to come out and hear it live.. I know i would..
Plus you may get more attention or get the word out more by posting it on a video online.. Than just a small 'in the know' type group, that hang out on the forums.

I finally had a chance to meet Glen at this clinic - great tone and great playing! I learned a few things also - not only great to hear him play but some good teaching points as well. I for one really appreciate your coming out to present this. As I said there, I hope we can arrange to get together for a "mini-tonefest" soon, Glen.
Let that boy boogie woogie.
