I like the fact that when I bump a teflon wire with my iron, that it doesn't instantly melt....
Also a big plus on teflon shielded cable, the inner insulation doesn't melt when soldering the shield.
I'm sold on it.

Teflon and Parrots - no good combination

Post by Hotrod Ford »

just a little warning for you Teflon lovers,
beware if you have a Parrot as a family member ,
heating teflon with high temperatures produces gases that can kill your parrot !
these birds are very sensitive to teflon gases for some reason ,
I am not kidding !
thats why you never can use teflon covered cooking pans etc in a household with parrots for example,

just thought I should mention it.

A good ol' cable discussion...ok

It always annoys me when people are having these discussion about cables, capacitors, resistors or whatever component, that we always end up hitting each other with physics, like like the ESR values on teflon.

Why bother with physics, we are musicians ......and if it sounds good, everything is fine.

Bingo! And it seems that of the best sounding amps of all time...the amps that actually defined what good tone is...none or almost none had any teflon wire in them.

Agreed, the wire makes absolutely no difference sound-wise. The durability of teflon, however, makes it the clear winner in my book.
