Cable assembly for Shure SM7B?

Post by xtian »

Client brought this Shure SM7B. There one of the conductors has gone open somewhere between the two end points. This cable is nicely made by Shure with brass crimped ends and rubber grommets. Can anyone find a replacement part? I'll DIY one if I need to, but it won't be as good.

Looks like the top set screw was overtightened. I would just flatten and reuse the original or cut a new part, brass is easy to work. If there's enough slack, you might get away with pulling the wires out another inch.

I agree with Max.

Maybe contact Shure customer support?

Given the way this mic is built, the cable is just long enough to work.

Maybe Shure can provide the cable as a repair part?

By this time, I am only surprised you didn't start on a mining forum and smelt the copper.. 200 processes later. DING! Artisan Monkey Wire.

Unless.. where have you been for the last few days, and do you have any pointers on replacing multi-layered wire insulation in-situ? Asking for a transformer.

You just need a proper seed crystal to grow the lettuce.
