Very old thread. I was on Gear Page and Jim Kelley insisted his amps didn’t blow output valves. People were supporting him there so why rock the boat, nothing would be achieved.

Personally, I don’t see how a 6V6 would stand 485VDC on the plates when my Mesa Boogie SOB blew Sovtek 6L6 (don’t remember which ones) every 18 months, they would red plate.
