Greetings,,, From the revised drawing I've attached, is this right in that I'll have 2 mono ins (for independent amps for stereo), and that the Series option will work only if i insert a bypass at the blue 'X', to disconnect any contact between the 2 speakers?

Yes, that will work once you insert a high current switch to open or close where you have the X.
Do not use a mini toggle switch!
For example a 100 watt amp would need a switch rated for a minimum of 5 amps.

The + to - link between the speakers needs to be broken if the L and R jacks are used.
It may be a problem to have amps connected to all 3 jacks, or the 16ohm and L or R, at the same time, even if they’re not powered up.
