Fitting a 100 ohm Humdinder pot to 15w amplifier

Replacing benchtop blenders with these 3 quick hand blenders

Technological innovation has created the stick blender, an invention that some might say is the next step evolution of the traditional benchtop blender. This is because unlike a conventional blender where it just sits idly on your worktop and is too rigid for a fast-paced kitchen environment, a hand blender is much more flexible and you can blend anywhere using any pot or pan as your container.

We’re going to introduce to you some quick options from the best of products to find the best products on The King Live to replace your good old benchtop blender with a new experience.

1. Bosch MSM88160GB

If it is a competition of technology, then Bosch surely knows how to champion every single game. And this MSM881160GB model is Bosch’s own champion in the competitive game of hand blenders. All of this success is all thanks to the secret innovative Quattro Blade Pro design that Bosch has implemented into the blades of this hand blender. What this design does is that it is essentially able to guide the flow of the liquid it is blending toward itself in a non-spilling manner.

This allows the blender to ensure perfect consistency in the mixture, and prevent the common problem with hand blenders with the downward suction. This is further backed by a powerful 800-watt motor that will esure crushing through even the toughest of nuts to dust. The only downside to this blender is just that the whisk tool piece is a little bit too spindly for the blender’s overall design.

2. Dualit 700W Hand Blender

There’s something to be impressed about a piece of kitchen appliance that is endorsed and recommended by a Masterchef winner. Being slightly weaker than the Bosch above, this 700-watt hand blender is still an impressive piece of tool that’s capable of crushing and squashing through numerous ingredients with ease. The perfect bullet shape of the main body of this machine also adds to the comfort when having to skillfully use it.

The control is simple and intuitive enough with just 2 speed buttons. These buttons control the spinning of the star blades underneath, which is carefully designed with a layer of protective rubber to prevent potential scratching damage to your pots and pans. This layer of rubber is also specifically designed to mitigate downward suction, a common problem with hand blenders.

3. Kitchenaid Artisan Cordless Hand Blender

Uniquely to this model alone, this hand blender is powered by portable batteries unlike most other hand blenders that need to be plugged. This offers the buyer both advantages and disadvantages: On one hand, this means the hand blender is completely portable and you can take it anywhere with you conveniently; on the other hand, this means the processing power of this blender is relatively weak at just approximately 180 watts.

If you value the portability of this machine and are willing to overlook its slightly poorer performance than the others, then this one is the one for you. In fact, its complete portability is uniquely the reason why this blender often makes it to the top product reviews despite its underperformance. You will come to appreciate its cordless nature more often than you might think.

Conclusion

While a benchtop blender might offer some benefits than using a hand blender, the truth is that a hand blender is better in almost any situation. And we hope that you have found your favorite among the above options. There’s a reason why they are so endorsed by great product reviews after all. Is the heater wire center tapped? I ask because you say there are 3 wires. If so, ground the center tap and skip the humdinger. If you have unacceptable heater hum, lift the center tap ground, cap it with heat shrink to insulate it, and tuck it out of the way. Then install the humdinger without the center tap. The wiper (middle lug) is connected directly to ground.

The 100Ω pot should work OK, but more typically, the artificial center tap is made with two 100Ω resistors. This suggests using a 200Ω pot.

If the amps output stage is cathode biased and the heater winding is center taped , and you want to save yourself some work then extend and connect that center tap to the output tube side of the junction of the cathode bias resistor and bypass cap.

First off thought I would take the totaly simple route and get and install a 12AX7 in the V1 spot that has spiraled filaments like a Electro Harmonics 12AX7EH or a JJ electronics ECC83.

99% of the time it's the V1 ( first gain stage) that introduces the majority of 60 hz AC hum into the amps signal flow chain!

eg as per Gibson GA20 https://el34world.com/charts/Schematics ... preamp.pdf
Whichever way you go, the balancing node (eg CT) is just a reference, 0 current flows, so I don’t see benefit in routing close to the heater feeds, eg including it in the twisted pair. There’s probably no harm in doing so though.

It’s a rather different scenario to the HT CT.
