What is the "right way" to burn in an amplifier? I find a litany of conjecture on the topic. Do you leave a chassis on for 24-48 hours? With tubes and a load or without? On a variac?
Much appreciated as always.

Re: BURN IN
I don't know if there's a 'right' way. Some people just play it for a bit over a few days and it's burned in that way, others play music through it for a day or two. Etc...
Some run a frequency through it into a dummy load... some do nothing....

Indeed! It’s true, the 5E3 that I play with my American rock band is the most broken-in amp that I’ve made, go figure. I wondered what y’all do when road-tripping a new build is not in the cards. Those other methods, however, can’t be nearly as fun!

									Just plug it in, man.
						Re: BURN IN
After all testing, I play the hell out of it over a week while leaving it on for the first 48 hrs with hourly monitoring of the AC current draw, temperature, and the power tube plate current.

Re: BURN IN
You don’t need to leave it on.

.
Have to monitor cabinet temperature. My designs are not like the usual. Tight enclosures, each different, so complete testing is required

You can say that again - very cool enclosures.
