Post by Oddvar R »

Hi. Any advise on what EU powered transformer for the Dumbleator? Tried to find on here, but didn't?

I used a Amplimo 1n242 toroid pt.
At tube town you can get something similar:

What voltage is optimal on the secondaries?

That depends on the transfomer and rectifier used; original has 135v with a voltage doubler rectifier.
When using 230v the bridge rectifier is suitable.
Check in the files section for schematics.

I am still a bit uncertain about the transformer, what about these specs from TubeTown?:

Pri: 0-220-230-240 V (schwarz-gelb-lila-rot / black-yellow-purple-red)

Sec 1: 250 V @ 0,12 A (red / rot)
Sec 2: 6,3 V @ 3 A (green / grün)
freie Enden / long leads ca 200 mm
h= ca.40mm d= ca.80mm
50/60 Hz EN 61558

You get a slightly higher B+ which can be adjusted with the first resistor of the dropping string.
Higher value dropping string resistor = lower voltage on the following filter nodes.
