What primary impedance? The Hoffman site doesn't mention it, and the MC site offers a choice!

I am using a Hammond OT with 16 ohm with 5881's . I've built one with a 1650 and one with a 1620. I've used 8 ohm also with 6V6's.

For 50w use 4k primary impedance.

Thanks!

A couple more questions:

What is the reason for parallel second stage rather than first, which is quite a common arrangement?

And how much does the tone change with volume on the version with NFB and PPIMV?

There is a "Fattness" pot on the grid to either ground the second triode or employ its use with a 250k load max. Not sure what the difference between "Fatness" and "Fattness" is though. His Royal "Fattness" will have to answer...

The PPIMV will cancel out the NFB unfortunately.

I'm going to change my OD trimmer to a regular pot so I can adjust easier.

What really confused me was all the volume controls and didn't notice that the one controls clean volume only ?MV clean. I had labelled that as OD volume but it actually controls the clean. Then of course I have PPIMV.

Still think the schematic I went by was changed as I don't see the 180K off the fatness pot on some.

Have you tried it? I notice the first post of this thread shows a schematic with that arrangement.

The way I see it, the lower the output volume, the less distortion in the output tubes, so the less the NFB is needed...

Hello all!! What PT and OT would you recommend (Hammond)? My first thought was to acquire a Deluxe Reverb chassis and cab, as well as Hammond 290BX PT and 1750H OT. Will this be adequate??

Any thoughts and recommendations are welcome!

Thank you!

Do you intend to build a TOS with 6V6 power tubes?

The TOS is a nice design that lends itself to customization.
Look over this amp designed by DaGeezer and 10thTx.
I made one with 6V6's and love it.

I would like to either do that or use 6L6 \ 5881's.

Then transformers for amps with these tubes should suit, but the Deluxe reverb seems to be primarily designed for 6V6(s).

The schematic mentions "Super Reverb".

Ahhhh.... ok. I see what you are saying now. I am attempting to find an easy way out on the cab and chassis..... For some reason I was thinking the Deluxe Reverb was 6L6's, Had it confused with a Super Reverb.

Thank you for smacking me on that!! ;-)
