ODS Chassis Sources
All, anyone know any companies currently selling decent ODS chassis +/- faceplates? (Or, even better, powder coated chassis?) I've seen a lot of references to amplified nation chassis on here (as well as some to CE pedals). Amplified nation doesn't list chassis on their site any more, and CE pedals appears to be out at the moment.
Re: ODS Chassis Sources
To clarify, I'm in the US, so would prefer somewhere in the US to save on shipping. I did see Ceriatone sells their chassis, but I'd rather not have the "by Ceriatone" if I can avoid it.

Re: ODS Chassis Sources
I had the same problem when I was looking for a chassis a few weeks ago. I talked to Taylor at amplified nation and he doesn't really source them to hobbyists right now but told me they would potentially be available through StewMac in the future.
My next plan was to purchase a chassis and drill it out myself but I couldn't find one in a similar size.
I was down to Ceriatone and Solandfa (company from Thailand). I really couldn't find anyone in the U.S. I ended up going with Solandfa as it was cheaper (when including shipping) and also I heard Ceriatone had rubbed people the wrong way on this forum.
I just received the chassis yesterday. Although it's not perfect, I'm overall very impressed and happy with the product and service. The owner's name is Songwut. There was a small shipping SNAFU but Songwut helped sort it out. He is very responsive with email.
A couple of notes if you decide to go this way. It does have dumble's name on it in a couple places (I plan on removing this). There is a cutout for an AC cord but not for an AC quick connect plug. I plan on drilling that out. A lot of the screw holes fit 4-40 but not bigger. There are a few I'll be drilling out. It says od-50 on the back and hertz is spelled 'herz.'. These don't bother me. The only other thing is the din screw holes on the back slightly overlap the main din hole. Still looks perfectly useable to me but YMMV. None of this is a big deal to me but they were things I noticed. It's pretty lightweight so I believe it's aluminum.
I'll probably post some pictures in my thread but I can post some here too if interested.

I've used this site before, and I really like these chassis' for custom work, he'll even punch the IEC hole or other holes for you if you want.

That's good to know! I would've strongly considered that seller when I purchased. I added him to my eBay watch list.pompeiisneaks wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 10:15 pm I've used this site before, and I really like these chassis' for custom work, he'll even punch the IEC hole or other holes for you if you want.

Re: ODS Chassis Sources
Pompeiisneaks, that's awesome. That may be just what I need. I'm reasonable competent at sourcing my own faceplates, so a custom-sized chassis is perfect.
Re: ODS Chassis Sources
Also, the Ceriatone chassis use separate faceplates, so they would be usable if you source your own. I think the Marsh Amps chassis may have come from Ceriatone too.
Re: ODS Chassis Sources
I have had wonderful experiences with Nik @ Ceriatone, always responsive, nice and professional. Shipping is fast.
My issue with the ODS was the head cabs vary wildly as well. The cab and chassis from Nik are made for each other and took one more question mark off the table for the build. I ordered mine with the vox fabric instead of the grained tolex on the front panel it was a minimal upcharge and with shipping it was still cheaper than Amplified Nation cabinet + what I would assume a chassis would cost. No one got back to me from them when I inquired via their website and they've been developing their own line so I'm sure they're busy with that.
The only thing I had to modify a bit was widen the PT hole for a classictone transformer. It was EVER SO MUCH too small. With a hand nibbler it was an easy change. All the component holes have nice keys for switches and holes for anti-spin tabs on pots. I'm very happy with the quality on both chassis and cab.
Making my own faceplates.

Re: ODS Chassis Sources
A lot of that is down to the chassis - they're not all the same size. I think the American-sourced chassis have the same dimensions as the HAD originals, and that's what Amplified Nation cabinets are made to fit. The Thai chassis are different, and I dunno if Ceriatone is different or not. If you're not getting chassis and cabinet from the same source, you need to get the chassis first and measure it and supply that information to the cabinet maker. Amplified Nation was able to make me a combo box to fit the Thai chassis, and it fits.
Re: ODS Chassis Sources
Marsh sells Ceriatone OTS type chassis and plates, USA.
I did a search last week that pulled up several builders but tonight only one on Reverb-high priced and no end plates?

If there’s enough interest I can do a run of them...but I have to order a lot to make it worth it, and I don’t want to sit on them.
