Liverpool feedback

Post by andrew »

Hello all, I'm using shielded cable grounded to the buss but is the 100k resistor soldered to the tip of the speaker out or is it soldered at the 39k / .01 / 4.7k ? Thanks!

I gotta get some pictures for y'all. Mine's about 6" along the wire covered in shrink tube, at the board end. The power tube grids are twisted and layed on the deck from where they solder to the board and are led directly to the power tube grids with the 1k resistor soldered between pins one and two. Grid wires to one.

The NFB wire comes off the pin of the speaker jack, heads away from the power section for two inches then drops to the deck crosses under the board, takes a right turn for two inches then ties to the board.

No runnaway feedback

Mine's about like that but I took the NFB wire the other direction, about two inches away from the grid wires.

The only pics I had of REAL Liverpools are attached. They're not the same. Red wire under the board vs white wire over the board. Both are flying above and at right angles to the grid wires.
The layout is a (hopefully) artistic rendering of Allynmey' lead dress.

I got back on the Liverpool project today. With the shielded NFB hooked up it has very low volume, distorted, and the presence control is ineffective. With the NFB unhooked it is LOUD and clean and the presence control is still ineffective. With the NFB unshielded it squeals or hums deep as the presence control is turned. Any ideas? Thanks!

Photos. I don't much care for the Liverpool presence control. The Express wiring works better.
