Thanks

The output is made in the EU, the Mains on this one was a Hammond as I had a few on the shelf needing used up.

you can see more of my build pictures here

So got this amp finished up, head build with a tweed combo sized speaker cabinet, I fitted a Celestion classic lead 80 and did not like it, too boxy and no top sparkle at all, the vintage 30 in my other 1 x 12 sounded much better. was surprised by the boxyness as this amp has loads of bass.

Anyway I have fitted a cream G12H, which reduces the boxyness, I also disconnected the NFB to lead the top end breath a bit more, still not a bright amp but sounds just about right now, would over to hear KWS amp. But I think I will need to spend a day trying different speakers.

Mike,

first thoughts are, maybe the small size of a tweed sized deluxe doesn't suit the celestion classic lead 80. If it's a new speaker it might need some breaking in, G12-65's are horrible when new but old ones are great.

I've got a classic lead 80 waiting for me for my cab that matches my tweedled dee but haven't picked it up yet, my cab is fairly close to the Dumble 1x12 dimensions though so probably a lot bigger than the deluxe.

I'm on the road until Xmas but will try to post some sound clips at some point. Just come off stage at the Edinburgh Playhouse, did Glasgow royal concert hall last night so in your lovely Scotland at the moment :D

Ah cool, are your Scottish shows sold out, should have said I would have come through to Edinburgh.

The Classic Lead speaker defo needs break in time, but not with that amp, it just did not work, if the cab was a couple inches deeper I may have been able to live with it for a bit longer to see what happened to the high end. I suspect with the Dumble cab it will sound better.

I still want to compare it to my tweed deluxe head too, just have not had the time to do anything like that, at this rate it will be next year.
