Put a humbucker in your strat!

Hehehe, I love strats but every time I build a new one, I end up hating a SC in the bridge.
My last one I used the DiMarzio Area 61's in neck and middle with a Blues 2 Heavy in the bridge. A little better but still pretty bright in the bridge position. BUT, no hum.
Pretty much get the strat type tone without the noise.
My other home brew strat has a Dimarzio PAF of some kind in the bridge and Fender Hot Noiseless in the other two positions.

I love the tone out of vintage spec single coils but I just could never tolerate the hum......
My latest is the tele in my avatar and I used the Tonerider Hot Classics in there.
Nice tone for $65 pups, but again the dreaded noise and hum.
I know the true gods of single coils, master the use of the guitars volume control to attenuate the hum in quiet moments of a tune but I haven't ever gotten that good at that......
Especially on a gainy amp.

I tried the Kinman SCN for a whole year and went back to the stock Mex ceramic. I added some extra windings on it for a little more meat and it is pretty fat without being too dark. It does hum, even more since I use the HRM now. I have had a few Alnico equipped Strats over the years but always found them too thin. I now know that the amp can make a huge diff in the sound so I would like to try Alnico again and tweak my amp to the guitar. I have considered putting a JB or PAF in the bridge also. I think sometime i will build another Strat with a bridge HB. I love the middle and neck SC pup sound and have no desire for a HB in the neck of any guitar.
